To say that Maya's March has been successful would be an understatement. It has been magical! The weather has cooperated for the walk and BBQ each year. Walkers and volunteers alike make the 5 km march enjoyable. Upon return to the Murphy house, a delicious BBQ is ready as are the great items in the silent auction as well as Caleb's Corner. The Phil& John Show entertains the crowd with their fantastic playing.
Saying thank you just doesn't seem enough for all the people who have contributed to the success of each year's event. The countless hours spent planning the event, the pledges that are collected, items that are donated and sponsorship that is arranged is overwelming. Maya's family and friends cannot tell everyone what their time and effort means to us. We are grateful that people take the time to make this event a priority. So far, $35,000 has been raised for The Hospital for Sick Children and PCD Research.
We are also well on our way to our goal of establishing a fund that families of children with PCD can use to assist with travel expenses to Toronto in order to access the expertise at Sick Kids.
Stay tuned to the website for details of other events as well as the fourth annual Maya's March.
Thank you to our sponsors and donors
